Pulpectomy

A pulpectomy procedure is quick and easy, which can take 15-30 minutes, and is to remove all of the pulp tissue from the crown and the roots of a baby tooth and then filled with a resorbable medicament material. The adult teeth root canal therapy, by contrast, may take hours due to the complexity of the procedure and the tooth anatomy. The purpose of a pulpectomy in baby teeth is to treat the infection and hold the space for permanent to erupt, however the long-term success rate of a pulpectomy is between 60-70% whereas a root canal therapy tooth may be 85-95%.
